Folios 163-164. Mr Hayley to duke [of Newcastle]. The inhabitants of Chichester are loyal to the king. He has received no sanction or commission from duke of Newcastle for the association established in the city, despite an assurance from Mr Brudenell that all its articles, except the one regarding arms, would be accepted. He requests instructions regarding the future of the association. With a postscript advising duke of Newcastle to consult Mr Ball if he has any suspicions of Mr Hayley. Dated at Chichester.
