Folios 112-113. Conyers D'Arcy to [duke of Newcastle]. Mr Duncombe, after voluntarily accepting a commission to raise a company, has dismissed his men at Knaresborough, stating that he had promised they should not leave the North Riding [of Yorkshire]. This has provoked indignation and contempt among the people; give directions in this matter. A quartermaster from Marshal Wade has arrived at Richmond to arrange for his troops to be provided for. Dated at Aske.
