With an extract of a letter from Mr Clark's son, a captain in Lord Cholmondeley's regiment. He writes that his father has leave to come home on parole but is inclined not to accept this offer as it will necessitate three journeys. He suggests that his father be exchanged with marquis de la Maison Fort, who is imprisoned in Hampshire. Walpole writes in a postscript that he has news of an alarm in Yarmouth caused by the sighting of large ships, which have now moved off northwards. The number of ships at Dunkirk is reported to be unchanged. Dated at Lockpil.
