Folios 47-48. Anonymous to duke [of Perth]. Formerly enclosed in a letter from duke of Cumberland to duke of Newcastle, dated at Lancaster, 17 December 1745 [SP 36/77/1/175]. Part of a packet of letters found in the portmanteau of duke of Perth. His current situation is disagreeable, but he has been obliged to come here. He cannot come to London at the suggested time, but wishes to see duke of Perth if he passes his way.
