Description

Folios 57,59. Swynfern Jervis to [Duke of Newcastle]. He has done his duty, and used all proper arguments with Mr Morgan, who will be with [Duke of Newcastle] on Wednesday next. He has written to General [Sir John] Ligonier to ask him to send a proper escort with Morgan. Dated at Meaford [Staffordshire]. Enclosure:

Folio 58. Examination of Edward Thorley. Thorley saw David Morgan at the house of Mr Brookes with Mr Waugh. They said they would go to see Bobb Williams at Wiggan [Wigan] and others. Left Stafford on Monday and stayed with a Mr Fitzherbert for two nights. Dated at Stafford, 14 December 1745.
