Description

Balthazar Mentzer, naturalised in 1709, minister of the Lutheran Church, 'commonly called the Swedish Church' in the City of London, petitions the king requesting that he be considered for a prebendary post at Canterbury or Westminster 'any other Canonship'. Mentzer's own church has no funds with which to pay him.
