Folios 87-89. Draft. Newcastle to Duke of Cumberland. False reports of rebels [Jacobites] at Sheffield [Yorkshire]; Caused Duke and Duchess of Norfolk and several gentlemen to leave Nottinghamshire. Intelligence concerning vessels and small boats gathering at Dunkirk [France], to transport 'considerable Number of Troops' to England. Marshal Wade left arms, stores and artillery in Nottingham castle; Mr Clay, castle steward, should secure them. Lord Lonsdale reports rebels planning to attack Cumberland or enter Wales. Intelligence from Lord Malton. [Carried] 'By Lamb' [messenger]. Dated at Whitehall [London, Middlesex].
