Folio 81. John Wood to [Earl Poulett]. £2465 10s subscribed in Bath [Somerset] for 'service of his majesty'; £412 by corporation, £1453 10s by inhabitants, £600 by 'the Chamber'. King wishes money to be used to raise recruits for existing regiments; Corporation wants Poulett's consent. Wood thanking Poulett for putting him on list of new county Justices in 1733. Dated at Bath. With response on reverse from Poulett to [Wood]. Agrees to contact mayor and corporation of Bath, once he receives directions from King's ministers.
