Folio 75. Viscount Lonsdale to [Newcastle]. Rebels [Jacobites] marched from Manchester yesterday; part of army went to Stockport [Cheshire], other part to Knutsford [Cheshire]. Bridge at Stockport broken down; Rebels must use fords to cross River Mersey. They either intend to enter Wales, or engage Duke [of Cumberland's] army. Dated at Byram [Yorkshire].
