Folios 3-12. Draft. Newcastle to Duke of Cumberland. Duke of Devonshire breaking up roads between Buxton [Derbyshire] and Derby [Derbyshire]. Intelligence from Colonel Fraser outlining rebel [Jacobite] route to London. Information concerning embarkations at Dunkirk [France], and Lord John Drummond's arrival in Scotland. Marshal Wade will lead detachment into Scotland. Bridges could be broken down to block rebel retreat. Lord Justice Clerk informed Duke of Argyle of new regiments at Edinburgh and Glasgow, commanded by Earl of Home and Earl of Glencairn. Account from Admiral Vernon of prisoners captured from the Soleil, which sailed from Dunkirk to Montrose [Angus]. Insurrection of 'Papists' suppressed by townspeople of Ormskirk [Lancashire]. [Carried] 'By Dick' [messenger]. Dated at Whitehall [London, Middlesex], 30 November to 1 December 1745.
