The Inquiry was set up in 1976 to consider the implications of the proposed Chester to Bangor Trunk Road, running along the North Coast of Wales. There had been a large number of complaints both from local residents and organisations concerned about the environmental results of the road. The inquiry concentrated on six specific areas of the route and on some connecting roads. Col R L Rolph presided.
