Date

Description

Correspondence from the British Transport Commission and British Railways Board, Southern Region, with railway officers and staff, Transport Users Consultative Committees, government and public concerning actual and proposed closures.

This is an artificial collection, grouped by subject (presumably in the South Region Head Quarters, Waterloo). There are no other record series for any of the office holders except the South Region General Manager. It therefore seemed logical to keep this collection together.

Some of the individual records originated in the Southern Railway company.
