Administrative / biographical background

Administration of the DEFRA Disinfectant Approvals Scheme and review of related legislation in respect of The Diseases of Animals (Approved Disinfectants) Order 1978. The Order also provides for the testing of disinfectants for approval and the marking of disinfectant containers; gives power to inspectors to take samples of disinfectants and by notice to require a particular method of disinfection; and makes the false marking of a disinfectant container or the selling of a falsely marked container an offence against the 1950 Act.
