The Audit Branch of the Finance and Audit Division of the Intervention Board was responsible for the auditing of the financial transactions of the Board and investigating suspected frauds, as well as for liaison with audit branches in the agricultural departments and HM Customs and Excise. Before 1977 these functions had been carried out by the Audit Branch of the Finance and Establishment Division, but no files have been selected for permanent preservation from that period.
