The Central Information Service was set up around 1972 as part of Industrial Relations Department II. Its function was to provide information on management practice and development in industry. It had been wound up by the end of 1975, and some, at least of its functions, had been taken over by the Work Research Unit.
The Tripartite Steering Group was set up in July 1973 under the chairmanship of the Minister of Employment. Its remit was to consider the need for action in the field of job satisfaction. By the end of 1974, responsibility for the Group had passed to the Work Research Unit.
