In subsequent years, the division underwent a number of name changes including; Energy and Nationalised Industries Policy Division (1974); Corporate Planning and Finance Division (1975); Finance and Nationalised Industry Division (1977); and Energy Policy Division (1982).
The division's primary function was to co-ordinate the various policy initiatives put forward by the government which affected the nationalised sector of the energy industry.
