This series contains all the financial documents which have been preserved by the department. Bills for buying, repairing and binding books and periodicals, for the purchase and preparation of specimens, and for expert assistance are preserved in for the years 1878 to 1937 (DF 402/1-30 and DF 402/48), together with estimates and bills for various publications from 1894 to 1929 (DF 402/31-42). The account books (DF 402/43-47) give a financial overview for the period 1887 to 1916. The Keeper's estimate files run from 1947 to1948 to 1966 to1967.
