From 2000 Department for Education and Employment
The Unemployment Benefit Branch was set up in 1972 following the establishment of the Manpower Services Commission. Its main function was to act as the contact point for the Department with the Insurance Division of the Department of Health and Social Security over matters of common concern over the payment of unemployment benefit.
