Selected at second review by FCO under PRO supervision, acquisition policy collection theme 2.2.1.3
On the formation of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in October 1968, the work of managing relations between the office and the Parliamentary Commissioner for Administration (under the Parliamentary Commissioner Act 1967) and various parliamentary committees, (previously handled by the Personnel Department), passed to a new Parliamentary Commissioner Unit. The unit's name was changed to Parliamentary Commissioner and Committees Unit in January 1969, to more accurately reflect its work, but its responsibilities were unchanged.
