Attorney General's [Dudley Ryder] opinion on the case of Alexander Forrester, John Farquharson, Charles Farquharson and Allan McDonald, four 'Romish priests' apprehended in the highlands on suspicion of being involved with the [Jacobite] rebellion, being held at Tilbury Fort. 2 enclosures:
Petition of Alexander Forrester, John Farquharson, Charles Farquharson, dated 2 June 1747. Stating that if they are released they will sign an agreement never to return to the United Kingdom or any other dominion of the king. (folio 57);
Petition of Allan McDonald stating the same. Dated 2 June 1747 (folios 58-59).
