Folios 8-10. Petition of Robert Aldridge, blacksmith at Westminster, on behalf of his son Robert Aldridge aged 14 years, now in Newgate for transportation for stealing a brass pot from an alehouse. The petitioner maintains that his son was led astray by another boy who has not been apprehended. On the reverse of the document there is a note to say that the king desires that the case be referred to the Recorder or the Deputy Recorder of London for their opinion. Signed by the Earl of Chesterfield [Philip Dormer Stanhope]. Dated at Whitehall.
