This series consists of staff files and diaries of the British Museum (Natural History) Department of Palaeontology.
It contains the few surviving departmental staff records. The diaries give details of the day to day work of the individuals concerned, while the staff files contain official letters relating to appointment, promotion and retirement. Also included are four of Henry Woodward's general files on staff matters (DF 106/35 - 38).
All staff had to keep an official diary until 1967, when they were discontinued, and all staff must have been the subject of a keeper's file.
Series held at The Natural History Museum are catalogued more fully in its online catalogue (reference DF PAL/106). Online descriptions of some individual records can also be viewed on Discovery, see DF 106.
