This series consists of departmental finance and accounts of the British Museum (Natural History) Department of Palaeontology. It contains the surviving documents concerned with the finances of the Department of Palaeontology and its forerunners.
The account books and journals give the daily record of expenditure under various headings, while other volumes give summaries and monthly totals.
DF 102/1-14 and DF 101/16 were prepared by the departmental clerk; the files in DF 102/15 were sent to the Keeper by the Museum Secretary at the start of each financial year.
