Duke of Newcastle to the Archbishop of York [Thomas Herring], expressing the hope that he would accept the office of Archbishop of Canterbury, and pointing out that any apparently difficulty in filling the See could be open to malicious interpretation. Newcastle refers to the King's wish to appoint the Dean of Winchester [Zachary Pearce] to the See of Bangor. Dated at Newcastle House [Middlesex, London].
