Copy of instructions signed by [King George II] for Lieutenant General Humphry Bland ordering him to take command of the army in North Britain [Scotland] using severe disciplinary procedures should they be required. Instructions note that several 'principal persons' linked to the [Jacobite] rebellion are still active, especially in Lochabar and Badenoch, and order Bland to attempt capture of Cameron of Lochiel and MacPherson of Cluny. Ordered to enforce law concerning Nonjuring Meeting Houses. Dated at Kensington [Palace] [Middlesex, London].
