Andw [Andrew] Carroll, former clerk and secretary to the Earl of Berkley, certifying that John Lemastre, while a prisoner in the Marshalsea [Southwark, Surrey], was under threat of murder being accused of being 'a damned informing rogue', by Charles Wroth, an ensign of foot, 'that vile fellow Reeves who was hanged at the last general assizes in Kingston', 'John York and Cocks both papists' [Roman Catholics], and a half-pay officer Mr Lacondray.
