Petition of Joseph Avery of London, mathematician and shipwright, to the Lords Justices. Seeks letters patents for an invention of a 'machine in the body of a firm and tight vessel, for bringing fish alive, expressly different from the well boats, Sir Richard Steele's vessel, or any other ever invented'. Referred to the attorney and solicitor general by Charles Delafaye, dated at Whitehall, London; and sworn by Joseph Avery, dated 29 October 1719. Enclosure:
