J Lynch to [unknown] stating that '... an unexpected accident in Queen's College is likely to defer the election for some time, so that 'tis the advice of my friends there not to give the Lord Chancellor the trouble of writing till Dr Davis [?John Davies] and the society have determined when and whether they shall come to an election. I hope the letter enclosed will be sufficient to vouch for my affection to his present Majesty...'. Mentions the [?Jacobite] 'disaffection' of some of his relatives, and Dr [Patrick] Needham. Dated at St John's College, Cambridge [Cambridgeshire].
