Description

Prisoner name: Hannah Lomas, Esther Whittaker and Mary Williams.

Court and date of trial: Cheshire Quarter Sessions, Chester. Lomas tried January Sessions 1836. Whittaker tried April Sessions 1834. Williams tried January Sessions 1836.

Crime: Lomas: larceny. Whittaker: receiving stolen goods. Williams: larceny.

Initial sentence: All: seven years transportation.

Annotated (Outcome): 'Free Pardon and Answered 12 January 1839'. See Bw 25 Mary Williams [HO 17/18/25], Bw 45 Hannah Lomas [HO 17/18/45].

Petitioner(s): Visiting Magistrates of Cheshire County Gaol.

Grounds for clemency (Petition Details): All the prisoners are 'far advanced in life' and their conduct during imprisonment has been good.
