Description

Prisoner name: Ralph Davidson (or Ralph Davison).

Court and date of trial: Hull Quarter Sessions [East Riding of Yorkshire], 7 January 1836.

Crime: Felony.

Initial sentence: 12 months imprisonment with hard labour.

Annotated (Outcome): 'Insane'. 'Warrants prepared for removal to Refuge Lunatic Asylum at Hull 20 June 1836'.

Papers: Letter from Edward Sidebottom, Town Hall, Hull, on behalf of the magistrates. Three letters from G W Codd, Town Clerk, Hull, one of which encloses a medical certificate from surgeons William Lunn and Henry Cooper at Hull County Jail.
