The Management Services (Health Department) Division came into existence in 1973, probably as the successor to the Health Management Division. Its remit included the management of audits and investigations, clinical and operational research and statistical assessment and review. The Division wasa no longer in existence by 1976, but it is not clear how its functions were resdistributed.
