Description

The Ordnance Board, an independent department of equal status to the Admiralty, was responsible for the supply of guns, ammunition and warlike stores to the Navy. These letters from that Board or its Secretary cover the full range of the mutual concernsof the two Boards. In-letters from public offices, 1802-1807, are indexed and digested in ADM 12/29-34.

When using the ADM 12 indexes to search for papers in ADM 1, documents in this sub-sub-series have the reference: 'Ord. Off.'
