These letters to the Admiralty are from the Marshal, Judge and officers of the High Court of Admiralty in London, and in a few cases of colonial Vice-Admiralty courts, concerning the business of the courts and the apprehension of offenders against navalor maritime law. Similar letters from the Irish High Court of Admiralty, 1691-1806, are in ADM 1/3988-3991. A copy of the 1832 Supplementary Report of the Admiralty Referees on Fees in Vice-Admiralty Courts is in ADM 1/4307. Records of the High Court of Admiralty are in HCA 1-HCA 62; other Doctors' Commons records are in PRO 30/28 and PRO 30/26.
