ADM 1/3814-3816 are letters from the Board of Trade and Plantations, dealing with the commercial and colonial affairs for which it was responsible. ADM 1/3817-3823 are from the governors of colonies and of the Channel Isles, reporting colonial affairs relevant to the Navy and naval intelligence which had come to their ears. In ADM 1/3817 is an extensive correspondence between Admiral Warren and Governors Pepperell and Shirley about the organisation of the 1745 expedition against Louisbourg. ADM 1/3824 consists chiefly of letters from the senior officer of the Royal Marines in New South Wales, plus the journal of H.M. Tender Supply, 27 November 1791-20 April 1792. Some other letters from Colonial governors, forwarded by the Treasury are in ADM 1/4283-4313.
