Description

Under this heading are assembled a variety of miscellaneous reports, correspondence and papers, many concerning the internal affairs and management of the Admiralty Office. From the abolition of the Navy Board in 1832 this series also includes some correspondence from the Principal Officers heading the divisions formerly comprising that board, which remained geographically and administratively separate from the old Admiralty Office. Further papers of this sort, 1686-1847, are in ADM 1/5114-5124.
