Part of the Chief Scientists Group?s role was the administration of Research and Development Projects/Technology Transfer Programmes in support of the food manufacturing and distribution industries. A number of the projects and programmes are published on the Food and Environment Research Agency (FERA) website. More recently with changes within Defra the administration for the series is now managed by the Evidence and Knowledge Base Team within the Food and Farming Group. They provide provision of scientific analysis and advice to policy on farming systems and food, particularly on lifecycle issues.
