Folios 672-673. Letter from William Goodacre, Clerk to the Guardians of the Mansfield Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Board, enclosing as requested in their letter of 25 September 1863, 29950, the appointment form for Mr James Lees, as collector of the poor rates for South Normanton.
The form shows Lee of South Normanton had been a farmer. The salary is to be £15 per annum. The post became vacant after the previous collector, Mr George Heart, resigned due to ill health.
Bond with 2 sureties in the sum of £100, dated 5 May 1863, by Henry Lees, Farmer, and William Peachy, Farmer and Butcher, both of South Normanton. Elected 19 March 1863, duties commence 25 March 1863.
