Description

Folio 747. Letter from T S Fletcher [Thomas Fletcher, Medical Officer], to the Poor Law Board, reporting that Matilda Freeman, aged 17 gave birth to an illegitimate boy in the Bromsgrove Poor Law Union Workhouse at 2am. Mother and child were both comfortable in a large double bed at 4am but at 6am the baby was found dead 'with all the appearance of having been overlaid'.
