Folio 584. Letter from John Eyre, Collector, South Normanton, Mansfield Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Board, acknowledging letter dated 31 January 1853 and stating that in future the requirements of the order of the Poor Law Commissioners of the 17 March 1847 will be fully complied with. Eyre states that until he received receipt of the order from William E Goodacre, Clerk to the Guardians of the Mansfield Poor Law Union, he was not totally aware of what was required. Eyre states he had made frequent enquiries from Mr Rowe, late collector, but he had refused to give any information. Eyre hoped the explanation was satisfactory.
