Folio 579. Draft letter from the Poor Law Board to William E Goodacre, Clerk to the Guardians of the Mansfield Poor Law Union, acknowledging letter dated 25 January 1853. The Board do not think the cost of having lists of paupers in receipt of indoor and outdoor relief publicised justifiable unless it is shown that some specific and [illegible] public advantage is likely to occur from such a [procedure].
