Folio 184. Letter from Richard Goulding, Clerk to the Justices, Mansfield Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Board. He states the following case: a woman has had a bastard child in the Mansfield workhouse but she belongs to a parish in Derbyshire which is in the Mansfield Poor Law Union. She intends to affiliate her child. Though she is in the workhouse she is still 'constructively' residing in her parish but in respects to affiliating the child is she not considered as residing in the parish in which the workhouse is situated?
Annotated: no reason for holding that the residence under 2& 3 sections of the 7& 8 Vict c 101 is anything other than her actual residence.
