Description

Envelope, marked 'West Country', third of four mounted on card typed 'Southern Railway 4-6-2' with '28' on reverse, containing seven monochrome photographic images of Southern Railway 'West Country' class 4-6-2 locomotives:

1) Postcard by Ian Allan with printed caption on reverse, No 21C106 ['Barnstaple' but as yet unnamed c.1945], from photograph by H C Casserley, 9cm x 14cm.

2) Photograph with manuscript notes on reverse, nameplate of No 21C106 'Bude' at Exeter St Davids, by W H Stone 8 April 1946, 8cm x 13cm.

3) Photograph with manuscript notes on reverse, nameplate of No 21C102 'Salisbury' at Exeter St Davids, by W H Stone 11 July 1946, 8cm x 12cm.
