Extract from 'The Railway World', October 1954, pages 218-222. 'Locomotive Causerie No 171', 'The 'Chatham' Past and Present' by O S Nock. An examination of locomotive performance on the London Chatham and Dover Railway before the amalgamation with the South Eastern Railway as recorded by Sir William Acworth. There are reproductions of five logs and five monochrome photographic illustrations.
