Description

Folios 112-115. Letter from W E Goodacre, Clerk to the Guardians of the Mansfield Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Board, enclosing two signed resignations of guardians for Pleasley and Glapwell as required by the Board's letter of 3 May 1864, 14447/1864. Also enclosed as requested is a copy of the Return form E. Goodacre states that no returns were made for Skegby and Teversal on Lady Day. The guardians request an order for a new election.

Printed schedule certified by W E Goodacre, Clerk to the Guardians of the Mansfieldl Poor Law Union to the Poor Law Board, on the election of guardians of the poor for 1864. Schedule contains proposed and elected poor law guardians for the union:

Resignation form for William Hollins, Guardian, Pleasley, on grounds of absence on account of ill health. Signed for W Hollins by R A Hollins, 14 May 1864.

Resignation form for John Shaw, Guardian, Glapwell, on grounds of being infirm and unable to attend the board. Signed by Shaw, 14 May 1864.

Annotated: Mr Lumley, [William Golden Lumley, Assistant Secretary to the Poor Law Board]. Can the resignation of Mr Hollins be accepted, he has not signed it himself.

Further Annotated: accept the resignations of Mr Hollins and Mr Shaw. Issue order for election of guardians for Skegby and Teversal.
