Folios 652-653. Letter from W E Goodacre, Clerk to the Guardians of the Mansfield Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Board, enclosing details of temporary outdoor relief given to two families. The Highways Boards of Sutton in Ashfield and Mansfield have set men to work on roads; therefore the guardians have set no conditions on this relief.
Those concerned are Solomon Radford, Framework Knitter, wife Sarah Radford, 32, Jacob Radford, 11, Elizabeth Radford, 6, William Radford, 3. Allowed 3s and 8lb of bread for two weeks, charged to Mansfield.
Also John Ward, 43, wife Matilda Ward, 44, Ann Ward, 15, Mary Ward, 13, Hannah Ward, 11, Frederick Ward, 7, Henry Ward, 4. Allowed 2s and 2 loaves for two weeks, charged to the common Fund.
