Folio 492. Draft letter from the Poor Law Board to W E Goodacre, Clerk to the Guardians of the Mansfield Poor Law Union, acknowledging his letter of 25 October 1860, containing the contract between the guardians and Doctor Powell, [Edward Powell, Medical Officer], for vaccinations, which is returned [not included]. The Board state that under the terms of the contract the guardians cannot legally pay for the vaccinations, from the poor rates, of anyone not resident in a union parish and whose name is not in the vaccination register.
