George James to [Sunderland]. Gives an account of the case of Don Pedro Ronquillo's hidden treasure. Apparently stolen during 1688 riots, James asserts treasure was not stolen but hidden and the Crown tricked into giving Ronquillo compensation. Asserts that associates of Ronquillo moved treasure elsewhere, the location of which James is aware. Requests a warrant to search for the treasure, for the King's use. Expresses frustration at delays to his intended project. Requests 'a third or a half' of treasure as reward, 'rather than to convert the whole to my own use'
