Duke of Portland [Henry Bentinck] to [Sunderland]. Praying for the reprieve of Thomas Williams, due to be executed the following day for involvement in the theft of one of Portland's carthorses at Bulstrode [Buckinghamshire]. Williams has been accused in newspapers but there are no witnesses against him. Portland asks for reprieve so all facts may be ascertained.
