Description

Petition for pardon of Charles Garden, of Bellastrein [in Glentanner Aberdeenshire], now prisoner in Carlisle [Cumberland], saying he was forced [to join Jacobites] by Laird of Auchterhouse and the Earl of Aboyne, mentioning Auchterarder [Perthshire] and Allanwater.

Enclosing:

Affidavit of Pitter [Peter] Forbes in Ballater [Aberdeenshire], James Pettrie of Kincardine [Perthshire, Ross-shire], Barbara Morgan, and Mary Grant, both in Milne of Kincardine, mentioning Forbes of Innernytie [near Cargill, Perthshire], Henry Forbes of Glencarvie [Mains, or Slacks of Glencarvie, Aberdeenshire?], and Callome McGreigor [McGregor].
