To: A Haymes, Clerk to the Local Board of Health, Leamington [Warwickshire].
From: The General Board of Health.
Draft letter acknowledging receipt of a letter dated 23 January 1854. It is stated in reply that, 'with reference to general provisions for diminishing the legal expenses on loans contracted under the Public Health Act 1848', the Board will be glad to receive any suggestions Haymes may have to offer on behalf of the Leamington Local Board, 'and are prepared to give this subject their best attention, as they are most anxious to diminish to the utmost the cost to Local Boards of causing into execution the beneficial powers conferred upon them by the Public Health Act'.
